UGS are proud to present a hot new French talent that comes in three…We Are Cassandre!

We Are Cassandre are one of the newest editions to the hugely promising UK based label SinQ Records that has seen the likes of No Artificial Colours and Eric Timpleton. The French fancy trio and DAST (Italy) are set to release there 4 track debut EP ‘Away’ on April 4th, which will be filled with French class and Italian flare. There is no doubt that this trio will be making waves all summer and are without doubt one of the artists to watch out for in 2012. Underground Source caught up with the talented trio to find out what We Are Cassandre have planned for 2012.

Hello We Are Cassandre! First of all we would like to thank you for making this great podcast and for doing this insightful interview with us. Every artist has there own individual journey to electronic music, would you mind enlightening us of all of yours, how did you all meet and your current residencies?

“We’re childhood friends; we’ve known each other for several years. Our passion for different musical horizons made us synthesize one and other personality in order to play deep house. Actually we focused on musical creation instead of dj-ing, but that’s precisely the upcoming direction we’re considering.”

Talk us through the alias We Are Cassandre, does it have some meaning behind it?

“We are Cassandre” is a double reference to Mythology and Advertising: “Cassandre” is the name of a French publicist, but it is also the name of a Antic Greek character whose destiny was never to be trust (which was quite worrying for her, as she was said to be an oracle…). That reminds us a personal anecdote.”

So…you have a forthcoming EP release ‘Away’ on SinQ Records with Italian artist DAST (Out 4th April) which will feature quite an array of awesome remixes from No Artificial Colours, Julien Sandre and Antoine Fahy. Where did you get the inspiration from for such a release and how does it feel to be making your debut appearance on such a promising label?

“The inspiration comes from Italy, thanks to the collaboration with Dast, a napoletan producer. We’re very proud and excited to work with SinQ Rec., and the artists it gathers.”
